THE BEGINNING

The First Conversation

The story began long before the first conversation. In 2020, Osama discovered Rushil Ranjan through the orchestral rendition of Man Kunto Maula, performed alongside Abi Sampa. Three years later, in December 2023, just two months after the launch of SAAF GARMENTS, he sent Rushil a direct message on Instagram. That message marked the beginning of an ongoing creative partnership, laying the foundation for many of the defining moments that would follow.

THE WORLD STAGE

Royal Albert hall

May 2024 marked the first public chapter of the collaboration. Taking to the stage of the Royal Albert Hall for what was, at the time, the biggest performance of his career, Rushil wore the Ivory Pleated Long Jacket as part of a complete SAAF GARMENTS look. The evening represented more than a performance. It became the first expression of a shared creative vision, bringing together music and tailoring on one of the world's most celebrated stages. Neither Rushil nor the house could have known that this moment would become the foundation for everything that followed.

THE PARTNERSHIP

brand ambassador

The collaboration entered a new chapter in October 2025. On the second anniversary of its first collection, SAAF GARMENTS announced Rushil Ranjan as the first brand ambassador in the history of the house. Titled The Symphony of Sound and Silhouette, the campaign celebrated more than a creative partnership. It recognized a shared vision between two self-taught artists whose work bridges heritage and contemporary expression through music, tailoring and cultural storytelling.

THE SHARED JOURNEY

THE INTERVIEW

Every collaboration begins with a conversation. In their first filmed interview together, Osama and Rushil spoke candidly about identity, family, and the balance between South Asian heritage and Western influence. They reflected on the sacrifices of their parents, the unconventional journeys that led them to their respective crafts, and the values that connected them long before the partnership had a name. Today, the conversation stands as the first enduring record of a creative relationship that was only beginning to take shape.

THE CONVERGENCE

AR RAHMAN X RUSHIL RANJAN

For a historic evening at the Royal Albert Hall, Rushil Ranjan joined A.R. Rahman on stage for Rangreza, a newly commissioned work co-composed for the Hall and performed alongside the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and London Voices.

SAAF GARMENTS created three custom looks for Rushil, designed as a wardrobe for the full arc of the performance. Saturated jewel tones brought color to the scale of the Hall, while strong tailoring, volume and proportion gave each look its own presence on stage.

The Symphony Continues

This evolving journey continues in a very interconnected way. Interweaving sound and silhouette together with each performance, each collection and each expression.
